You can see your breath, cold today and requiring a sweatshirt. It all makes me rather introspective walking around campus on such a beautiful fall day. The leaves beginning to drop staining the pavement veridian with areas of raw umber, alizarin, and ochre -remnants of a summer now past. How simple and lovely life can be, mundane pleasures like the smell of the hotdog stand, coffee, little bits of a funny conversation picked up from a passerby. The joy of books and of being a little too sleepy. How clearly brilliance transcends in lines like these;
How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty false or true, But one man loved the pilgrim Soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face;.....Yeats. go ahead and say it aloud 'But one man loved the pilgrim Soul in you,' for it is in the reading aloud that words change and take their rightful place, falling.....ever so easily....into.... a meaning, that reverberates.

10 Good Things About Living In A Really Bad Neighborhood.
1. Plenty of off street parking; no one really wants to steal your Ford Opal or Amc Pacer. (although these can be modified into KitCars)
2. Watching friends run from their cars to your apartment building, nervously waiting as you delay buzzing them in.
3. Psychotic homeless person provides cheap entertainment.
4. Graffiti that reads: 'Paula is Truubel'
5. 24 hour beauty salon, should you need a triple process at 3 a.m.
6. Spotting Mick Jagger singing on stoop.
7. Funky fresh street level fashions.
8. Knowing the difference between an afro-puff, afro-pyramid, micro braids and bantu knots.
9. That middle-eastern restaurant on corner.
10. The 'night/day lounge' spotted in the film 'Stranger Than Paradise'.
