Hurray! Blogger! New Server! I am truly addicted!
1634 Henry Peacham wrote 'The Compleat Gentleman' writing about Virtuoso, the title for those skilled in distinguishing copies of antiquities from the originals. I prefer the concept of VIRTU (all capitals) from the Latin virtus or excellence, a love of or taste for works of art or curios; a knowledge of or interest in the fine arts as a subject of study. 1746 Horace Walpole fourth son of Sir Robert Walpole, Britain's first prime minister refers to, my books, my virtu and my other follies and amusements.

Thoughts jotted down on a napkin or words from a small vietnamese restaurant, a cold January afternoon; 1. Damn! (he exclaims!) This JasmineTea is great! 2. As an artist/painter a verbal or written vocabulary often escapes me. Almost always opting for the visual, I might show you through form, my plasticine world. This blog or my writing is an experiment of marking time and of making words. I am seduced by the intuitive nature of life and often surprised by the truths or lies that are uncovered. I will often show you the banal, my surliness, a touch of mystery peppered with complete disclosure, the ordinary and extraordinary. Yes, life can be complex, as my words reveal an embarrassing discordancy. There is risk in making marks, guides to days that pass so quickly and meter life, like it or not. I wonder why when all is so readily apparent do we immediately recognize what's missing? Future forward always working out solutions in my head. Happy that I still find people and life that warrant discovery, hungry for exploration of both. Turn the corner and slay the philistines that oppose your personal modernism!

HistoryHouse is fast becoming one of my favorite nerd satiating sites of the day. History as it should be, travails of everyday citizens, salacious doings in times of higher morals, stumbling ignorance of higher sovereigns, and surprising stories about people no dumber or smarter than we are. If you are like me, and crave the juicy tid bits of days gone by, this site is for you. Recent Articles include, Tattoos Cannibals and Free Love, Volusion Confusion and more. Checking the book reviews can be dangerous to your health and pocket book.

Black Coffee and Vicks Vapoub I am starting to detox off of my steady holiday diet of frosted squares of Halls Menthol Cough Drops goooey berry flavored Sudafed Cough Syrup, low grade shitty antibiotics that never worked, chalky chunks of Non Drowsy Sudafed Severe Cold Formula and some sort of mystery herbal remedy from the Chinese pharmacist. I feel better today, and will probably fuck with my blog to see if I can delete all my archives. I also need to catch up on my mail, respond to some merrymakers <--argh! plow through care packages from France and England ( music!) New Orleans (read!) and New York (read!).
