'Hand-crafted, modernist, luxe and irreverent' are some of the words to describe Jonathan Adler's designs. I have been collecting his very affordable ceramic work for some time and love his reinterpretation of Scandinavian styles of the 1950s and 1960s. His seductive vessels are clean simple, tactile, graceful, smooth, and heavily geometric. He hand throws his porcelain couture line (the aorta vases) and works with Peruvian artisans via the non-profit group Aid To Artists to turn out his more affordable Pot-o-Porter line. He is now expanding his line into home furnishings and dinnerware.

My Free Will Astrology For The Week: Aquarius: I hope that as long as you live you never lose the capacity to fall in love. On the other hand, it would be a real drain on your integrity if you were continually infatuated with a never-ending parade of fresh hotties. So I hope, too, that as you grow older you always keep expanding your repertoire of what you're able to fall in love with. In that spirit, let's see if in the next couple of weeks we can get you to be swept away not by a cute member of your favorite gender but by a surprising teaching, magical place, provocative work of art, or future masterpiece that you could create.

What happened to all that futuristic stuff which was supposed to change our lives by the year 2000? RetroFuture items like picture phones rocket belts, flying cars, food pills and Monsanto's Plastic Home Of The Future? HAL, Vocoders, Qube, some words on Experimental Polyester Clothing of Tomorrow or EPCOT. Ground control to Major Tom, wha happened?!
