I am seriously addicted to historical timelines, perhaps because it puts events in their proper context but even more fun is taking them out of context, scrambling them and cross referencing. Calendars, births, deaths, politics, music, pop culture, literature, science, war, religion and more. Interactive, hold me back! Disappointed by the lack of connection between painter Jan Vermeer and the father of microscopy, Anton Leeuwenhoek. Note to self...write paper, thesis, mmm more?

My brain hurts, I'm not going to complain as the sun is shining and it is indeed a beautiful day. Although, I am intellectually spent, I am eager to hit the road for a run with the dog Sam and clear my head of all the academic nonsense that one goes through in graduate school. Don't get me wrong, I love it but sometimes...(thinking) ummmm (lapse of the synapse) topics can be examined to death and perhaps getting an alphabet behind your name is about tolerating or killing any enthusiasm you might have left for something. I do feel very lucky that I have the resources to pursue something I love so much...(more thinking) Art (blah blah blah) Ahhhh maybe I am just a cranky fuck today, tomorrow promises to be restorative, free time and catching up on my mail, new ideas, perhaps some new links and (ahhh heavy sigh) a growing attachment to this writing thing.
