STALLONE TO MAKE RAMBO 4, According to London's Sunday Times, Sylvester Stallone has been inspired by recent events and is considering making "Rambo 4." In the new story, Rambo parachutes into Afghanistan to battle leaders of the Taliban. Upon seeing "Rambo," the Taliban forces are too confused to fight, as they believe they've been transported back to 1982.

Recuperating from a bit of the flu so I am backtracking a bit. Last Sunday's New York Times Magazine: Beginnings The Future Of New York is particularly brilliant. It not only contains the usual but interesting bit on urban planning, etc, a special item written by Run D.M.C. and many more personal stories that give a realistic portrait of New York. My personal favorite is Let Us Count the Ways, a photog and narrative piece by New Yorkers that reaches beyond the usual Metfrickmomawhitneygugg stuff. Matthew Barney's artist unguided tourist testimony; peeing reverently onto Richard Serra's 'Tilted Arc' in Federal Plaza! For me, it wasn't always about 'Project X' parties, oops did I say that? New York is about the 'Nightcrawlers' you know, walking around at night, riding the subway at night, the whole city changes and gets a more dangerous. In fact, I think the show 'Insomniac' was my idea.

Well, you thought you might be helping the victims of the terrorists attacks by giving to the United Way's September 11th fund, and you did, sort of...you helped with emergency operating costs for WNYC because their transmission equipment was destroyed. You may have helped purchase computers, telephones and office equipment for Legal Services of New York and lastly, a 170,000 donation to Legal Aid Society which is helping to represent several detainees in connection with the Sept. 11 attacks. Read their carefully worded press release in response. But you ain't heard that from me, just don't say nothin' about poor Miss Jenkins. On the other hand, following weeks of scathing criticism the American Red Cross announced yesterday that it would use its $543 million to only assist those people affected by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. You can read their carefully worded press release.
