'I am a Super-Model for a super party' said Enza 'Supermodel'' Anderson, Toronto's best known drag queen who is seeking to rule Canada's right-wing party. The 37-year-old, launched her campaign at Toronto City Hall wearing a short maroon dress, her signature stilettos, a blond wig and bright red lipstick. What I want to know is, if her fairy tale comes true, will she officially be Empress Enza? Not one to shy away from media attention, Enza loves contraband 'drag wear', it raises eyebrows, hem lines and political awareness.

Burning it down, burning the bitch, breaking it down, securing the hitch. Without fail, my brain goes on automatic shut down at the close of the semester. Focus, focus, focus, writing provides escape from routine, in which I do believe I sometimes thrive. Lack of schedule and I'm free to roam, catch up on all the reading I have been meaning to do, a whole stack right here on the desk, magazine articles, the Times, various sections, books too. Structure, ha! a thousand, I'll do it later, I'll call you later, blah blah blah. and then some. Continuity my ass, I never signed up for the daily plan, throw in an overdose of sucrose, a slight sugar coma, a missed trip to the gym, hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Mail and server problems which I hope are now resolved.

The Last Lonely Saturday by Jordan Crane is a very sad yet inspirational 126 panel, retro looking, 'picto-novella'. A mostly wordless story layed out in two tone design that is a real hearthbreaker, expressive drawing makes for an emotional piece with sparse, clean elegant illustrations. Small comic with a big impact.

'Bathroom Girls' by Yvonne Mojica is a (modern comic) about tough bad ass high school broads that seriously rock. That is to say they kick some ass in a big way. The series started out as a wee mini comic back in the day but has exploded with a fetching nasty cuteness. These tough chicks hang out in the bathroom, smoke, and 'get even' with anyone stupid enough to cross them. Think Russ Meyer's 'Faster Pussy Cat Kill Kill' crossed with 'Hello Kitty', 'Heathers' or Linda Blair's 'Born Innocent'. Most stories revolve around getting stoned, shoplifting, cat-fights and more. Scenes are punctuated by pot brownie recipes, drinking games, and christmas tree ornament cut-outs.

You can design your own damn kix'.
