This past weekend, a good solid Irishman married my younger sister in the Catholic Church. It was an all-gay supporting cast; my lesbian sister as maid of honor, and the groom’s gay brother as best man. Definitely a happy ending, or should I say a great start. I promised not to buy them the life size Venus de Milo, washable statue for indoor or outdoor use; I always say a ca. 2nd century BC Greek work adds loveliness to any setting. I settled for the best damn coffee and espresso maker I could find, and a dozen art mugs that hold gallons of my favorite coffee. Don Francisco blends are definitely the overly caffeinated adult version of a juice box and a nap.

So early it’s still almost dark out.
